Athens First United Methodist Church is older than the state of Alabama, but it is as relevant in the 21st century as it has ever been. We relocated to the corner of Hobbs & Jefferson and built our first building on this site in 1925. Over the years we have grown in size and scope of ministry. In June of 2014, we received Kenny Baskins as our new pastor.

On any given Sunday, over 400 people meet in one of two worship services (8:50 am Contemporary Service in the Beasley Center and 11:00 am Traditional Service in the Sanctuary); but there is always room for you at either of these two services.

The Athens First United Methodist Family of faith is committed to living out our Christian faith together in worship, study, fellowship, and service to the entire world.

Our Mission Statement is “To Seek, To Serve, To Share Christ.” We invite you to explore our website or come see us in person.
